| Overview | The SpinPrep™ Gel DNA Kit enables efficient
extraction of DNA fragments of 150 bp to
> 12,000 bp in size from agarose gels. The
procedure uses GelMelt™ Solution to dissolve
the gel slice, followed by adsorption of the
DNA to a silica membrane in a spin column
format. After a wash step, the purified DNA
is eluted in low-salt buffer. Each spin column
can bind up to 20 µg DNA. Recoveries are
consistently in the range of 50-90% under
standard conditions.
